7 out of 14 dogs died inside the cargo hold of the American Airlines plane on Tuesday. The dogs, which were sent by an “unidentified commercial dog-breeding operation in Oklahoma”- otherwise known as a puppy mill (can we say that?) were to make connecting flights at O’Hare airport which would take them to pet stores in other states. Only 7 of the 14 dogs were deemed “air-worthy,” and they were placed on the second flight. Investigators are looking at factors ranging from heat stroke to carbon monoxide poisoning to pre-existing health problems in connection with a shipment of the puppies. For complete story click HERE.
