Adopt Now!

Animal Advocates Alliance regularly rescues animals from city and county shelters, as well as strays, and neglected and/or chained animals. AAA will typically select animals that are most “at risk” for euthanasia. This includes “red-listed” animals, who will be euthanized imminently if they are not rescued. Please consider adopting or fostering the following amazing animals and help save a life!

MARVIN Has the Sweetest Loving Heart and Needs a Good Home – a True Best Friend!

August 31st, 2010

Marvin is an 11 month old staffordshire/hound mix. He is one of the sweetest most loving boys we have met. Sadly he was overlooked at an over crowded high kill shelter. It was his final hours and we could not let him perish. He weighs 50 pounds and is a beautiful golden color. Marvin loves all dogs big and small and is most likely fine with cats with the proper introduction. Marvin knows his sit and walks well on a leash. Marvin is the type of dog that will truly blossom in a home and become the best friend of a lifetime. He has a huge soul and is so sweet and loving and is very attuned to people and his surroundings. Marvin is a perfect companion.

Marvin is up-to-date on vaccines and micro-chipped and neutered. He is also vet checked and healthy.

If you are interested in adopting Marvin and have additional questions – please email StephanieL@animaladvocatesalliance.org. You will also need to complete and submit the following online adoption application: ONLINE APPLICATION

Tyler is Pure Love and Needs a Good Home!

August 28th, 2010

Tyler is the sweetest black and tan dachshund mix we have ever seen. He was rescued from a high kill shelter after being brought in as a stray found by a local vet. Tyler is 4 months old and has a case of non-contagious demodex mange. This form of mange is brought on by an adverse amount of stress on a weak and forming immune system. Through love, good nutrition and some medicated baths, Tyler symptoms will disappear and he will soon make a quick and perfect recovery. Tyler is loving, sweet and playful. He adores other dogs and he loves to snuggle up to a human companion. He is one of the most affectionate dogs we have met. Tyler will be adopted to a home that best suits his needs and not on a first come basis. Tyler is up to date on his vaccines and micro-chipped and will neutered prior to adoption.

If you are interested in adopting Tyler please email StephanieL@animaladvocatesalliance.org. You will also need to complete and submit the following online adoption application: ONLINE APPLICATION

Sweet Angelo Deserves a Chance at Love!

August 22nd, 2010

Our sweet Angelo is a 5-6 year old pit bull. This poor boy was used as a bait dog in a dog fighting operation and then dumped on the streets like trash. Angelo ended up at the Baldwin Park shelter, where he was held as evidence in an animal cruelty investigation.  Angelo eventually recuperated from his injuries and returned to a healthy weight.  By then the shelter manager and staff fell in love with this sweet boy and asked Animal Advocates Alliance to save his life. Angelo absolutely adores people. In fact, we think he would prefer to be human rather than a dog (he sadly doesn’t know the truth about humans). Because of his past, however, Angelo should be an only dog until properly socialized with other dogs by a professional trainer. He would be an incredible only dog as he has nothing but love, loyalty and companionship to give to his human. Angelo would also really benefit from being in a foster home so we are offering compensation to a loving foster for opening their home to this boy. Please contact us for details. Angelo is neutered, current on all vaccines and microchipped. He weighs approximately 55 lbs and is full of love. He walks well on the leash and is very respectful.

If you are interested in adopting or fostering Angelo please email Lee at LeeG@AnimalAdvocatesAlliance.org or Stephanie at StephanieL@AnimalAdvocatesAlliance.org. You will also need to complete and submit the following online adoption application: ONLINE APPLICATION

Brooks is True Beauty!

August 22nd, 2010

Brooks is a stunningly handsome 50 pound, 1-2 year old red pit bull with beautiful light green eyes!  Like Angelo, Brooks, is yet another example of how this amazing breed can be abused and mistreated at the hands of dogfighters. Brooks, however, is one of the lucky ones.  A Good Samaritan saw this emaciated boy being dumped in an alley in Compton and contacted AAA for assistance.  A loving AAA volunteer heard the news of this poor boy and rushed to Compton, determined to give this dog a second chance.  We are happy to report that Brooks is no longer emaciated; he is healthy, full of life and would make an incredible running partner for an active individual or family.  Although he walks and plays with certain other dogs, he is dog selective and will need continued socialization with other dogs.  Therefore, he should probably start out as the only dog in his adoptive home. Brooks is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.  While Brooks is in need of a forever home, we would also be thrilled to find him a foster home where he can benefit from the love and consistency that a secure and safe environment can provide (AAA will provide food, vet care, supplies and, if necessary, a small stipend).  Brooks is exuberant, loving, energetic and will make a fantastic forever companion!

If you are interested in adopting or fostering Brooks please email Lee at LeeG@AnimalAdvocatesAlliance.org or Stephanie at StephanieL@AnimalAdvocatesAlliance.org. You will also need to complete and submit the following online adoption application: ONLINE APPLICATION

Mia is one Sweet Doll that Dances!

August 23rd, 2010

Mia is WONDERFUL 2 year old Chiweenie (or Weenie-hua-hua, if you prefer!).  Sadly, she was an owner surrender at the Baldwin Park shelter, however, when AAA volunteers saw this amazing little 10 lb. gem standing on her hind legs and clapping her front paws for attention, they couldn’t leave her behind.  Mia is a complete love bug.  She wants nothing more than to snuggle and get belly rubs.  She is a little nervous with new dogs at first, but her foster brother (a mini-Doxie) has quickly become her best friend (they even have regular make-out sessions!).   Mia is pretty much potty-trained (needs time to adjust to a new schedule) & LOVES to go for her walks.  She prances around the neighborhood with her head held high.  In true Doxie & Chihuahua fashion, Mia loves to burrow in her foster parent’s bed, so a home that will allow her to do this would be ideal.  This little girl is spayed, micro-chipped and current on all her vaccinations. Watch the video below and see Mia in her dancing action! Mia would do best in a home without cats and without young children.

If you are interested in adopting Mia, please contact Kelly at kelbrett02@yahoo.com or at 310.285.8422. You will also need to complete and submit the following online adoption application: ONLINE APPLICATION

Sly is one Handsome Pup Looking for a Home

August 23rd, 2009

Sly

Sly Malone is one handsome German Shepherd/Doberman mix!!!  In fact, he looks like a perfect 50/50 split between both breeds!  He’s neutered, approximately 2 years old and weighs a sleek 78 lbs. He’s a medium energy dog and just a big, goofy puppy. Sly has been professionally trained and knows all of his commands!  He gets along swimmingly with other dogs and will engage in playful tag when he meets a dog willing and able to reciprocate the game. He loves car rides and loves to bury his face in a bowl of fresh water- he wants to scuba dive.  Sly is a sweet dog who only wants to be loved and to love someone back.  Could you be that someone?

Bree is one Precious Little Terrier and Totally Bonded with Rusty!

August 22nd, 2010

Hi, my name is Bree, a very pretty wire-haired terrier! I live with my foster mom and my best friend Rusty. I’m a charming, sweet girl. I’m about a year old and have a great figure at 15-pounds. I sing duets with my Chihuahua boyfriend Rusty whenever the fire truck goes by, and personally I think we could get a record contract. I love to wrestle, chase and fetch toys with the boys, and sometimes I win! In my quiet time, I love to sit by the window, look out to the world, and ponder the mysteries of life. I also think about finding my forever mom and dad, and how we would love each other forever and ever.

Bree and Rusty are true love birds! Like a true gentlemen, Rusty looks after Bree and she rewards him with kisses on his face. They love to play fetch together and wrestle, and Rusty often lets his girlfriend win, because he’s just that kind of a guy! They also love to go window-shopping at The Grove, sit for delicious treats, chase birds, and sing a beautiful duet whenever the fire truck goes by. We think they’re ready for a recording contract. Rusty likes to sleep under the cover by your feet and Bree likes her quiet space on the couch. But in the morning, Bree shows up on the bed and greets you with a kiss before she starts wrestling with Rusty. They love each other so much so we hope to find a forever home for them together.  If you are interested in adopting Bree (and hopefully Rusty) please contact Lee at LeeG@AnimalAdvocatesAlliance.org.  Watch a video of Bree and Rusty below. Anyone interested in adopting Bree will also need to complete and submit the following: ONLINE APPLICATION

Rusty is one Sweet and Friendly Fellow and Very Bonded with Bree!

August 22nd, 2010

Hi there! My name is Rusty, a handsome 10-pound Chihuahua-terrier mix. My foster mom calls me, “The little man,” not as a knock on my size, but that I’m quite the man, you see. I like to think of myself as the man of the house, the guardian, if you will. I like to hang out with my girl, a cute terrier and my bestest friend Bree, and belt out our favorite songs to the fire-truck siren, and if I say so myself, we sound pretty darn good. I am also the king of the backyard jungle! I lower my body to the ground, like a lion poised to strike, then pounce on my girlfriend and wrestle! Did I tell you I’m also clever? I go potty in the litter box 100% of the time, and do my foster mom proud! I do whatever she asks of me, as I am a very good boy. I mean, man. So if you want to adopt me (and hopefully my best friend Bree), I promise to love and protect you forever. Oh, and I like to snuggle under the blanket with you.
