Adopt Now!

Animal Advocates Alliance regularly rescues animals from city and county shelters, as well as strays, and neglected and/or chained animals. AAA will typically select animals that are most “at risk” for euthanasia. This includes “red-listed” animals, who will be euthanized imminently if they are not rescued. Please consider adopting or fostering the following amazing animals and help save a life!

Milla the Majestic Found as a Stray

February 7th, 2010

Milla is a Staffordshire Terrier who was found as a stray in the Beverlywood area of Los Angeles on February 7, 2010. A member of the too often misunderstood, neglected, abused and victimized staffie/pit bull breed, Milla was so happy to have found a companion in her rescuer. Unfortunately Milla did not have a microchip and there were no signs of anyone looking for their lost pet. Milla did not have a collar or a tag and was found with a chain around her neck. She also appeared to have been wandering the streets for a while as she was found very skinny and tired. Milla is an extremely sweet little Staffie. She weighs approximately 50 lbs and is between 2 and 3 years old. She absolutely loves people and seems to be dog tolerant although will definitely need socialization, training and proper introduction. She loves treats and is very gentle. She knows how to sit on command and listens attentively. We hope to continue to search for Milla’s possible owner with adequate consideration to the condition she was found but our expectation is that she will be available for adoption shortly. She’s currently in great need of a foster home. If you are interested in meeting Milla or can open your home to foster this sweet dog please email Phillip at PhillipG@AnimalAdvocatesAlliance.org.

Tito is the Greatest Companion Ever!

Tito is one fantastic little Chihuahua. He is almost 2 years old, already neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Tito would love nothing more than to sit in your lap and take a nap. He loves to play with other little dogs and is perfectly fine with bigger dogs. Shy at first, he really warms up quickly once he knows that he can trust you to be his pet parent. Tito is 5lbs of pure love and just a joy to have around. If you are interested in meeting Tito please contact Lee at LeeG@animaladvocatesalliance.org or call 310.285.8422. Pluto Deserves a Loving Home

January 24th, 2010

Pluto 2 Pluto 1

It is always challenging to volunteer at a high kill shelter such as the Baldwin Park county shelter but you always come away feeling great about having the opportunity to provide a wonderful day for many animals who rarely get any attention or even step out of the kennel, and help network them in search of rescue and loving homes. However, there is always a few that you just can’t walk away from without doing something more immediate. While volunteering this week, we came across Gus (now Pluto), a wonderful 10-12 year old (maybe younger) Fox Terrier mix. Pluto has an amazingly calm spirit. His owner had recently passed away and he had found his way to the Baldwin Park shelter surely waiting for his number to be called for his sad walk to the back. We had Pluto out the entire day thinking about what we could possibly do to help this gentle soul. At days end there was only one option, Pluto would have to be leaving the shelter with us. Pluto is now at the vet receiving treatment for his kennel cough and we hope that he will be released within a few days. He will be in need of a loving foster home or a forever home. Pluto is approximately 18lbs, he is already neutered and vaccinated and potty-trained. He is a low maintenance dog that wants nothing more than a comfortable bed, a nice meal and the companionship of someone who will love him and take him for short walks. If you are interested in accepting this amazing pet into your home, please email Phillip at PhillipG@AnimalAdvocatesAlliance.org or call 310.285.8422.

Nora is a Sweet Girl in Need of a Home!

January 23rd, 2010

Nora-1

Hello, I am Nora. Although I am only between 1 and 2 years old, I’ve been through a lot. I’m not sure why, but my former owner tried to crop my ears himself. It was so painful, but being dumped at the shelter was even more painful. Some nice people saw what a sweetheart I am and decided to rescue me. I am currently in boarding, as I have not found a foster or permanent family to take care of me. I am such a gentle and good natured girl. I am also pretty petite at just 35 pounds or so. I promise to be loyal to you for the rest of my life if you just give me a chance!

If you are interested in meeting Nora please contact Lee at LeeG@animaladvocatesalliance.org or call 310.285.8422. You will also need to complete and submit the following: ONLINE APPLICATION

Alfie Needs Your Help!

January 23rd, 2010

Owner Surrender-1

Unfortunately Alfie’s owners are not able to keep him as they have been forced to move to a location where Alfie will not be allowed. The owners have fortunately decided to do the right thing for Alfie and try to find him a home instead of turning him in to the shelter. Alfie is a 4-5 year old (male) terrier mix. He is good with kids and very playful. He loves to chew on rubber toys. He is a very special dog and loved by anyone who meets him. He is cute and scruffy, gray in color and very alert. He has not been neutered but will be prior to transfer to a new owner. He recently had his vaccinations on 10/17/09. Please help the family by giving Alfie a foster or forever home. If you can help, please contact Phillip at PhillipG@AnimalAdvocatesAlliance.org or 310.285.8423.

Jasmine is so Deserving of a Loving Home!

January 23rd, 2010

Jasmine1 jasmine

Jasmine is a 11 month old female staffie mix. She was rescued by AAA from the Camarillo shelter where she was found by animal control abandoned and tied in a mobile home park. Her L4 Vertebrae was broken and she has spent the past 7 weeks in medical boarding. She is healed enough to be in a home with a companion that is sensitive to her injury and structures her play and exercise in a careful way. Funny thing is that Jasmine has no idea she was or is injured. She yearns to be with people and dogs. She is very energetic and loves to play play play, we tell her that she has a built in puppy-upper installed but granted she still is a puppy. She is very food motivated and responds well to positive reinforcement. She is in a 6 week training program that meets once a week. Any person interested in fostering or adopting Jasmine would be privy to these sessions. Jasmine weighs 45 pounds and is full grown and is spayed and up to date with her vaccinations and is micro-chipped.

If you are interested in meeting Jasmine please contact Stephanie at StephanieL@animaladvocatesalliance.org or call 310.285.8422. You will also need to complete and submit the following: ONLINE APPLICATION

Give Mochi a Chance and be Rewarded with Love!

January 13th, 2010

Mochi

Meet Mochi, a 2-yr-old, 45 lb. wigglebutt who practically convulses with joy when hanging out with her human companions!  Unfortunately for Mochi, she was the victim of a backyard ear cropping job and has strangely shaped ears to show for it.  She’s a resilient girl, however, and doesn’t hold a grudge against people – in fact, all she wants to do is spend time with humans.  Because she was never socialized properly, Mochi should be the only dog in her adoptive home.  Mochi is clean, quiet and obedient.  Mochi is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Please give her a chance to finally have an owner that cares for her in the way she deserves!  If you are interested in meeting Mochi, please contact leeg@animaladvocatesalliance.org
