Help Animals by Joining the Ralphs Community Charity Program

April 10th, 2009

Dear Volunteers and Friends,

Now you can support Animal Advocates Alliance by simply doing what you do every week: grocery shopping! AAA is now a member of the Ralphs Community Program, so for every dollar you spend at Ralphs 2-4% will be donated to AAA. The only thing you need to do to help us get the most out of the Ralphs program is to sign up your Ralphs Rewards Card with AAA. There are three easy ways you can add AAA as your Ralphs Rewards Charity.

1. You can register online! (http://www.ralphs.com/myralphs/). You will first need to sign in or create a new online account using your Ralphs Rewards number (that can be found on the back of your card). Once signed in and you have confirmed your new account through your email, click on “Community Contribution Program”, type Animal Advocates Alliance into the search box and select our organization. Once you’ve done that click “Save Changes” and you are done. After 72 hours, every dollar you spend at Ralphs will help AAA. This is definitely the easiest and most convenient way.

2. Use the Scanable Barcode the next time you go shopping! Ralphs has made signing up for their Charitable Program incredibly easy by providing a scanable barcode. All you have to do is print out the following page and when checking out at Ralphs ask the clerk to add our charity to your Rewards Card. She will scan the barcode from the page after you have scanned your rewards card or used your phone number. Print the following page and take it with you to Ralphs the first time: Ralphs Community Program

3. You can register via telephone! If you don’t have a physical rewards card or just use your phone number at check out, you can call Ralphs and get your Rewards Number and sign-up AAA as your charity with one of the customer services representatives. Call 800-660-9003 to register via phone.

Please remember that in order for AAA to receive a percentage of your purchase, you must use your Rewards card every time you shop. Happy shopping everyone!

MARVIN Has the Sweetest Loving Heart and Needs a Good Home – a True Best Friend!

August 31st, 2010

Marvin is an 11 month old staffordshire/hound mix. He is one of the sweetest most loving boys we have met. Sadly he was overlooked at an over crowded high kill shelter. It was his final hours and we could not let him perish. He weighs 50 pounds and is a beautiful golden color. Marvin loves all dogs big and small and is most likely fine with cats with the proper introduction. Marvin knows his sit and walks well on a leash. Marvin is the type of dog that will truly blossom in a home and become the best friend of a lifetime. He has a huge soul and is so sweet and loving and is very attuned to people and his surroundings. Marvin is a perfect companion.

Marvin is up-to-date on vaccines and micro-chipped and neutered. He is also vet checked and healthy.

If you are interested in adopting Marvin and have additional questions – please email StephanieL@animaladvocatesalliance.org. You will also need to complete and submit the following online adoption application: ONLINE APPLICATION

(you may purchase an LA County Volunteer t-shirt for $10 at the shelter following completion of orientation).

Additional Details:
*Please plan to meet around 9:00 a.m. The shelter address is 4275 N. Elton St., Baldwin Park, 91706. Turn Left on Elton. Elton is a very small street (almost an alley), so it is easy to miss the street sign. Keep your eyes peeled!
* Wear comfortable shoes and clothing, and be aware that your clothes and shoes WILL get dirty!
* Try to eat breakfast, and bring along an energy bar or snack and some water for lunch, as we normally do not have time to take an extended lunch break
