Dog Drifts 75 Miles on Ice, Rescued in Baltic Sea

February 1st, 2010 by Lee

A frightened, shivering dog was rescued after floating at least 75 miles down Poland’s Vistula River and into the Baltic Sea.  “Baltic” was found by a Polish ship of ocean scientists carrying out research.  Once on shore he was taken to a vet and found to be in good health!  Baltic is described as a friendly dog that was clearly well treated before getting lost.  Four people have come forward to claim him but Baltic has shown no recognition to any of these folks.  His rescuers won’t turn him over to someone unless they are sure about ownership!
